When creating a simple design, Henricus Kusbiantoro believes that many designers fall prey to the temptation to go with ideas that are trendy, stereotypical, or expected. Henricus pushes beyond the ordinary to create work that is honest, different, and that will stand out from the crowd. He brings that sense of bold truthfulness to his award winning work as a Design Director. He leads his team in helping our clients to distinguish their brands from the rest of their industries, with simple, inventive designs.

At Siegel+Gale, Henricus has been on the creative teams for clients such as Aetna, Bloomberg, Hewlett Packard, Music Choice and one of the biggest telco provider in the Middle East.

Before joining Siegel+Gale, Henricus was a senior designer at Landor Associates in San Francisco, where he designed identities and created brand expression solutions for clients that included the Global Samsung Beijing 2008 Olympics, Super Bowl XLV 2011, Dickies Workwear, Yahoo! NetApp, Citibank, OneWest Bank and Union Bank.

Henricus was at Wolff Olins New York, where he redesigned the overall brand expression and graphic system of General Electric, (RED) Campaign by Bono U2, Carters, Smith and Nephew. Upon moving to New York, Henri worked for Pushpin Studio, a New York design firm, as well as the corporate identity design practice of Chermayeff & Geismar.

Henri graduated from ITB School of Art and Design-Bandung and earned his MFA in communication design at the Pratt Institute. He was also an adjunct instructor for directed studies at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. He has received numerous design awards, including GRAPHIS International 2012 and 2010, AIGA 365, the prestigious D&AD London Award, and the NY Art Directors Club Award for Global (RED) Campaign in 2007.

Henricus loves playing soccer and throwing stone in the river with his son, Theo.
